Malaysia
Malaysia is a federation of thirteen states in Southeast Asia. The country consists of Peninsular Malaysia which shares a land border on the north with Thailand and is connected by the Johor-Singapore Causeway and the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link to the south with Singapore. Malaysian Borneo occupies the northern part of the island of Borneo, bordering Indonesia and surrounding the Sultanate of Brunei. Malaysia is a federal democracy, comprising 6 states and 2 territories with the Capital city being in Kuala Lumpur. Major cities include Georgetown, Malacca, and Kuching. Malaysia' s population is 26.8 million. The climate is tropical with annual southwest (April to October) and northeast (October to February) monsoons.
The national languages is Malay, although English is widely spoken, although other languages are spoken given the multi-national nature of the population. The currency is the Malaysian Ringgit. The national economy is ......... (ranking 54th in GDP - $12,100 ppp), and having the 61st highest HDI Index in the world. The majority of the populations is Muslim. Buddhism, Daoism, Hinduism, Christianity are also practised.
